Cupping
Cupping involves applying suction with glass/silicone cups to certain parts of the body. Cups can be used in conjunction with movement or left still. Cupping promotes blood flow and circulation to the area, breaking up congestion, and relaxing the nervous system to reduce myofascial tension and inflammation.

Cupping is a form of myofascial release. We use suction to soften + release adhesions, restructure the fascia, and release toxin build-up in the tissues, in order to create space along the spine and back for more effective movement and circulation.
Instead of applying pressure to muscles like in a traditional massage, the suction from glass-fired cups pulls the skin, tissue, and muscles upward. This relieves pain while also removing toxins from your body. Cupping also increases nutrient-rich blood supply which helps with faster recovery from injuries and athletic performance.

FAQs
-
Cupping marks are discolourations that can occur from the release and clearing of stagnation and toxins from the body. This reaction is not bruising, but is due to cellular debris, pathogenic factors and toxins being drawn to the surface to be cleared away by the lymphatic and circulatory systems. The discoloration will dissipate from a few hours to as long as a few weeks, depending on the severity of toxins released.
-
Hydrate with H2O! Water will help to dilute the intensity if the release of toxins so load up before and after your session. If you have the ability to use the Hydro-Suite prior to treatment, it is good to help warm up the tissues.
To avoid skin irritations or breakouts, we recommend not combining cupping with body scrubbing or dry brushing services. It is also suggested to shave at least 4 hours prior to your service.
